IPL - Intense Pulsed Light

Intense pulses of light are used to penetrate the dermis, or the deeper part of the skin. IPL then causes collagen and blood vessels below the epidermis to constrict, reducing discoloration and age lines, which effectively improves skin texture and stimulates cells. 

To lessen the appearance of freckles/blood vessels/dark spots the IPL device emits a range of light waves that target either the red blood cells in the vessels or the melanin (brown pigment of freckles and dark spots). Vessels and melanin are damaged by the light beams which is then absorbed by the body, making them less visible.

Treatment is performed with topical anesthetic. Minimal discomfort

 

	Treatment durations: 30 minutes
	Post-procedure care: Redness that occasionally occurs after treatment should disappear shortly. Brown spots will darken and flake off within 1-2 weeks after treatment. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
	Recovery time: No downtime
	Result & Maintenance : Two to five treatments are typically suggested, spaced one month apart.
	Side effect: Change in skin color, blisters, scarring in rare cases.
